Whilst in Tanzania members of the Barnsley Kilimanjaro Charity Trek Team will be visiting the Amani Childrens Home in Moshi.
This home was founded in 2001 and is a haven for children who find themselves on the street. The home currently has around 80 children in it. Some of the kids are orphans who have lost both parents, in many cases to Aids, whilst others have run away from home to escape physical, mental and sexual abuse.
Amani Children’s Home is committed to reducing the number of children living on the streets in Tanzania by providing a nurturing place for homeless children to heal, grow, and learn. In addition to providing long-term care, Amani aims to reunite children with their relatives when possible and to equip their families with the tools they need to be self-sustainable. Amani is dedicated to creating a path for each child that leads to a future filled with hope.
The team hope to take essential educational, medical and food supplies to give to the Childrens Home when they vist. The home provide a list of required equipment.
