My Challenge – Philippa Attwood

I’m a Project Officer at the Council and work for Information Services in the Chief Executive’s Department.

I’m 22, soon to be 23 and I live in Hall Green, a small village in West Yorkshire, with my partner and my adorable Shih Tzu, Paris.

My father used to take me walking as a child and I used to run two or three times a week until earlier this year when I broke 3 meta-tarsal bones!

In March 2010 I went to London with the Council in aid of the Barnsley-Newham partnership and raised money, again for Barnsley Hospice. I am also in a netball team called the ‘Tornados’ and we play in the South Yorkshire Netball League.

In September 2009 I started a Masters degree in Project Management and my last term will be Jan- April 10. Knowing that I was soon to finish my degree meant that I needed a new challenge and so I took up the opportunity to take part in this trek of a lifetime!

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous at the prospect of climbing to over 5,000m but I will persevere and hopefully grow as a person during this epic ramble! Through it all I will rest assured that the efforts the whole team and I make will aid Barnsley Hospice to continue its remarkable work.
